Jean-Michel Basquiat + Études Studio

After a first tribute to Jean Michel Basquiat in 2022, a new capsule dedicated to the vanguard artist accompanies the Spring-Summer 2023 season. Composed of 100% cotton pieces, the Études Studio + Jean-Michel Basquiat wardrobe offers contemporary silhouettes and accessories in fresh tones.

Five of the artist's creations weave together casual sportswear, workwear-inspired denim and relaxed shirts pieces. The symbolic artworks "Now's The Time", "Self-Portrait" and "Mecca" are expressed in silk-screen printings on t-shirts and jersey sweatshirts, the mythical "Batman" painting adorns a poplin shirt, while Basquiat's signature crown becomes an allover print.

The expressive gestures of the artist and his love for New York City are reflected throughout this collection. The embroidered slogan "EMPIRE" sets the tone: an allusion to the totemic figure of the Empire State Building, the word becomes a nod to the urban territory, an evocation of the city and its periphery.
